These statistics will include comprehensive data about alien encounters, such as total numbers, nationalities, gang-affiliated apprehensions, drug seizures, encounters with individuals in the terrorist screening database, criminal alien arrests, known "got aways" (individuals who evaded capture), and encounters with deceased aliens. The bill also mandates that these monthly reports specify the number of individuals in the terrorist screening database who have attempted to cross the border unlawfully, been apprehended, and whether they were subsequently released or removed. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to submit quarterly reports to congressional homeland security committees, providing an assessment of foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations attempting to move members or affiliates into the United States through southern, northern, or maritime borders. A foreign terrorist organization is defined according to the Immigration and Nationality Act, ensuring transparency and providing Congress with detailed insights into border security challenges.
