The bill also allows for new birth certificates to be issued when a parent's name has been legally changed, with provisions to protect the individual's privacy by not revealing prior names unless specifically requested. Additionally, the Motor Vehicle Administration will be required to offer the same sex designation options on licenses, identification cards, and moped operator's permits. The changes will take effect on October 1, 2025, providing time for state agencies to implement the new procedures.
