This bill establishes an Air Force Technical Training Center of Excellence (the Center) to enhance and standardize technical training across Air Force installations. The Center will be led by a designee of the Airmen Development Command and will have multiple key purposes, including facilitating collaboration between technical training sites, serving as a premier training location for military maintainers, publishing standards for excellence and leadership, advocating for curriculum and facility improvements, fostering relationships with industry and academic partners, identifying best practices, and creating a central hub for aviation technology and training advancements. The Secretary of the Air Force will choose the Center's location from an existing Air Force installation that already provides technical training and maintenance proficiency. By creating this centralized entity, the bill aims to improve the quality, innovation, and effectiveness of technical training across the Air Force, ensuring that maintenance and technical personnel receive high-quality, cutting-edge instruction.
