The signs must be at least 8.5 by 11 inches and printed in 16-point font, and they must display the national 24-hour human trafficking hotline. Businesses that fail to display these signs can be fined $300 for a first offense and $1,000 for subsequent violations. The bill is based on a recommendation from a 2024 State Commission of Investigation report that examined human trafficking in the massage and bodywork therapy industry, with the goal of increasing awareness and potentially helping more victims identify and seek help through the national hotline by providing information in additional languages.
