This bill amends the administrative code of New York City to provide enhanced pension benefits for police detectives, sergeants, and lieutenants based on their years of uniformed service. Specifically, the bill creates three tiers of pension benefit increases: (1) for members with 25 years of service, a 5% increase to their highest grade of pay; (2) for members with 30 years of service, a 10% increase to their highest grade of pay; and (3) for members with 35 years of service, a 15% increase to their highest grade of pay. These percentage increases will be added to the applicable salary used for computing pension benefits within the New York City Police Pension Fund.
