The transfer is being made in recognition of BSVAC's long-standing community service and is intended to help the organization establish a permanent facility to support emergency medical care and services in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community. The bill includes specific use restrictions: the property must primarily be used for volunteer ambulance services, emergency medical response, first aid, patient transport, community health services, preventative care, wellness initiatives, mental and maternal health services, and workforce development programs related to emergency medical services (EMS), public healthcare, and public safety.
