This resolution concerns the confirmation of Salimata Sangare to the Commission on African Affairs in Washington, DC for a term ending October 27, 2027. Sangare, a Ward 5 resident originally from Cote d'Ivoire, is a job coach with Galaxy Health Care Solutions who has previously worked in various roles and interned at the Embassy of Cote d'Ivoire. She has an Associate of Applied Science degree from Community College of DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice from the University of the District of Columbia. The nomination is being made by Mayor Muriel Bowser in accordance with the Confirmation Act of 1978 and the Office and Commission on African Affairs Act of 2006, and has been reviewed and found legally unobjectionable by the Office of the General Counsel to the Mayor. The resolution seeks the DC Council's confirmation of Sangare's reappointment to continue her work supporting African immigrants in the District of Columbia.
