Wilson Building 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 504 Washington, DC 20004 Dear Chairman Mendelson: In accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2- 142; D.C. Official Code § 1-523.01), and pursuant to section 224 of the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective July 19, 2024 (D.C. Law 25-191; D.C. Official Code § 3-1202.24), I am pleased to nominate the following individual: Dr. Tremikae Owens Chancellor’s Way, NE Washington, DC 20017 (Ward 5) for appointment as a medical physician licensed in the District who works with acupuncturists, doctors of chiropractic, or naturopathic physicians member of the Board of Integrative Healthcare, filling a new seat, for a term of one year. Enclosed, you will find biographical information detailing the experience of the above-mentioned nominee, together with a proposed resolution to assist the Council during the confirmation process. Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, MD, 40 hours/week. • Served as a consultant to the Surgeon General of the Air National Guard on matters pertaining to the flying safety and operational readiness mission for the Air National Guard Medical Service. • Developed and managed medical programs in support of aviation safety. • Directed clinical programs and policies to ensure the medical response capability of the Air National Guard. • Interfaced with Headquarters Air Force, Major Commands, state and federal agencies to produce aeromedical policy for 107,000 Guardsmen in 89 Air National Guard medical units. • Performed quality medical reviews and dispositions, analysis and interpretation of flying standards, and medical clearance of aviators and military special duty personnel. • Maintained consistency in application of appropriate medical standards to medical cases. • Trained and mentored flight surgeons and other medical providers in the Air National Guard across 54 states and territories. • Directed the technical and administrative aspects of an $11.9 million Medical Case Management contract while serving in the role of Contracting Officer Representative, facilitating military medical readiness. Supervised four military personnel and oversaw 15 contractors. • Lauded by leadership as a “vital flight medicine leader, top medical officer, stellar clinician, superb Air Force medical service resource.” • Supervisory responsibilities: Monitored and evaluated performance of subordinates.
