This bill requires insurers and corporations that offer specialized dental benefits plans to submit annual reports to the superintendent, who is the head of the state's insurance department. These reports, organized by market and product type, must include data on the number of people covered, including those who reach the annual coverage limit, details about plan costs like cost-sharing and deductibles, and the maximum annual coverage limit. The data collected will be based on the fiscal year the dental coverage was provided, and the superintendent will compile this information into a report for legislative leaders. Furthermore, starting January 1st of the year following the first report submission, the superintendent will make collected dental loss ratio information, which is a measure of how much of the premium collected is spent on actual dental care, publicly available on a searchable website by plan type. This act takes effect immediately and applies to policies issued or in effect on or after January 1, 2027.
