Before implementing such a tool, landlords must publicly share a summary of the disparate impact analysis on their website and any housing listing platforms. When using these tools, landlords must notify applicants at least 24 hours in advance, providing details about the tool's characteristics, data collection methods, data sources, retention policies, and reasons for potential application denials. Applicants must also be given the option to request an alternative selection process. The attorney general is empowered to investigate potential violations and can initiate legal proceedings to ensure compliance, with the ability to mandate corrective actions or seek appropriate relief.
