This bill creates the Ohio Israel Trade and Innovation Partnership, a collaborative body designed to foster and explore economic, technological, and policy connections between Ohio and Israel. The partnership will consist of 14 members, including three state senators, three state representatives, eight gubernatorial appointees (representing higher education, chambers of commerce, Jewish communities, and business organizations), and three ex-officio members (the chancellor of higher education, the director of development, and the lieutenant governor). Members will serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for expenses, with legislative members serving two-year terms and appointed members serving four-year terms. The partnership will elect a chairperson, can form subcommittees, and must issue an annual report to state leadership detailing its activities, findings, and recommendations. The bill aims to strengthen Ohio's international relationships, particularly focusing on potential collaborations with Israel in various economic and technological sectors.
