The New York Attorney General is empowered to enforce these provisions, with the ability to seek injunctions and impose civil penalties of up to $25,000 for each violation. The goal of the legislation is to increase transparency and accountability in the creation and distribution of AI-generated content, helping users understand when they are viewing synthetic media.
