This bill amends the Oklahoma State Park Trust Fund legislation to allow the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission to utilize up to $5 million from the trust fund's principal between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2030, to construct and maintain a lodge and associated facilities at a state park. The trust fund, which consists of mineral lease payments, royalty payments, and other oil and gas-related revenues from state parks, can already use up to 5% of its principal annually for purposes such as protecting park lands, preserving historic properties, and making capital improvements. The bill also makes minor grammatical changes, such as capitalizing "trust fund" consistently throughout the text. The legislation will become effective on July 1, 2025, and includes an emergency clause, which means it can take effect immediately upon passage and approval, allowing the Commission to proceed with planning and potentially beginning construction of the new lodge facility.
