The assessment must determine whether notices can be modified to reduce paper consumption and government costs, and provide recommendations to make the notices clearer, better organized, and more concise. Following the assessment, the Secretary is required to submit a copy of the findings to the Senate and House Veterans' Affairs Committees within 90 days and begin implementing the recommendations that comply with existing veterans' laws. The Secretary must complete the implementation of these recommendations within one year of starting the process. The bill aims to improve the communication and clarity of veterans' benefits claim notifications, making the process more user-friendly and efficient for veterans seeking assistance.
