While school units can still investigate and potentially place employees on suspension during an investigation, they cannot permanently punish employees for using reasonable force in accordance with the law. The provisions will take effect for the 2025-2026 school year, providing clear legal safeguards for school employees in managing student behavior and maintaining school safety.
