This bill establishes the Maine Life Science Innovation Center (the Center) as a new state entity designed to grow and support Maine's life science sector. The bill appropriates $2,000,000 in one-time funds for fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27 to cover the Center's start-up costs, with an additional $500 allocated from special revenue funds to support potential future gifts or grants. The Center is designed to be a comprehensive catalyst for growing Maine's life science sector, focusing on economic development, research, education, and innovation.
