This bill directs the Maine Department of Corrections to conduct a comprehensive study on gender inequality within its programs, services, facilities, and policies. The joint standing committee will have the option to introduce legislation in the Second Regular Session of the 132nd Legislature based on the findings of this study, potentially leading to concrete actions to improve gender equality within the corrections system.
