Additionally, the bill delays the applicability of expanded financial disclosure requirements for certain boards and commissions until January 1, 2026. This emergency amendment is designed to provide more flexibility and support for college athletes in managing their NIL opportunities, reflecting the growing importance of such rights in collegiate sports. The act will be in effect for up to 90 days, as is typical for emergency legislation in the District of Columbia.
