This bill authorizes the village of Trumansburg to offer Kevin R. Noterfonzo, a police officer hired on February 10, 2020, the option to participate in a special twenty-year retirement plan under section 384-d of the retirement and social security law. Currently, Noterfonzo is enrolled in a different retirement plan (section 375-i), and this bill would allow him to switch to the twenty-year plan through no fault of his own. The village of Trumansburg can elect to assume the additional cost of this plan by filing a resolution with the state comptroller within one year of the act's effective date, certifying that Noterfonzo did not prevent his own participation in the plan.
