The task force will meet at least twice per school year to review and update the information. The guidelines must include a letter for school personnel about eating disorder prevention and a letter for parents detailing warning signs, risk factors, and resources. Schools must distribute this information via email, first-class mail, or their website. The goal is to increase awareness and early detection of eating disorders among middle and high school students by providing comprehensive, accessible information to parents and guardians. The legislation will take effect 60 days after its passage, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing a significant mental and physical health concern among adolescents.
