This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive special resource study of the Camden Battlefield area in South Carolina, which includes the site of the Battle of Camden fought on August 16, 1780, and related Revolutionary War resources. The study will evaluate the national significance of the area, assess its potential to become a national park unit called "Camden National Battlefield Park", and explore methods for protecting and interpreting the site through partnerships with federal, state, local, and nonprofit organizations. The Secretary must consult with various interested parties and examine the feasibility of different management approaches, including identifying potential costs for federal development, operation, and maintenance. The study must be completed within three years of receiving funding, after which the Secretary will submit a report to the Senate and House committees detailing the study's findings and recommendations. The research will follow established federal guidelines for conducting special resource studies and aims to determine the most appropriate way to preserve and commemorate this historically significant Revolutionary War site.
