This resolution concerns the emergency approval of transferring jurisdiction of specific portions of U.S. Reservations 343-C and 343-D from the National Park Service to the District of Columbia, specifically to support the 11th Street Bridge Park project. The proposed transfer involves 165,294 square feet of land and 5,653 square feet of air rights located along the east bank of the Anacostia River, roughly bounded by Anacostia Drive, S.E., Marion Barry Avenue, S.E., the 11th Street, S.E. ramp to Interstate 295, and 11th Street, S.E. The project aims to create the District's first elevated park, which will include playgrounds, urban agriculture, environmental education spaces, and outdoor performance spaces spanning from the Washington Navy Yard to Anacostia Park.
