Furthermore, it creates a "penalty enhancer" for crimes committed as part of transnational repression, meaning the punishment for the original crime will be increased by one felony classification or to a Class I felony if the original crime was a Class A misdemeanor. Finally, the bill criminalizes the enforcement of foreign laws within the state without prior approval from federal or state authorities, making it a Class E felony with a mandatory minimum prison sentence and fine.
