This bill amends Section 43.16 of Florida Statutes to revise the composition of the Justice Administrative Commission, which is a body involved in the administration of justice. Specifically, the bill increases the number of state attorneys on the commission from two to three, adds one criminal defense attorney who has contracted with the commission to provide services and is not a government employee, and includes one chief judge of a judicial circuit. These new members will be appointed by the presidents of their respective professional organizations, namely the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association, the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, and the Conference of Circuit Judges of Florida. The bill also specifies an effective date of July 1, 2026.
