This bill amends Florida Statute 43.16 to revise the membership of the Justice Administrative Commission, which is a body involved in justice administration. Specifically, the bill increases the number of state attorneys on the commission from two to three, adds a criminal defense attorney who is not employed by the government and has contracted with the commission for services within the last five years, and includes a circuit judge or senior judge serving on a circuit court. These new members will be appointed by the president of The Florida Bar Board of Governors and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, respectively. The bill also specifies an effective date of July 1, 2026.
