This bill modifies existing laws related to self-service storage facilities by updating rental agreement requirements and procedures for terminating storage space leases. It provides specific guidelines for terminating storage space rental agreements, including requiring owners to provide at least 15 days' written notice before an occupant must remove their personal property. The bill also grants owners the right to place reasonable restrictions on an occupant's facility access during the termination period and allows owners to dispose of personal property remaining after the specified notice period. Additionally, the bill maintains existing provisions requiring occupants to disclose any lienholders with an interest in stored property and clarifying that failure to pay rent for 14 consecutive days may result in the sale of stored items to satisfy a lien.
