This resolution concerns the confirmation of May Chan to serve as a full-time Commissioner on the Real Property Tax Appeals Commission (RPTAC) for a term ending April 30, 2030. May Chan, a Ward 6 resident with a Master of Business Administration from Simmons College, has been a member of the RPTAC since its establishment on July 16, 2012. Prior to her current role, she was involved in community development, serving on the board of the Shaw Community Development Fund and the Transportation Subcommittee of the Washington Convention Center Advisory Committee, as well as being a board member of the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District. The resolution includes a letter from Mayor Muriel Bowser nominating Chan for reappointment, along with a legal sufficiency review from the Office of the General Counsel to the Mayor, which found the nomination to be legally unobjectionable.
