This bill modifies reporting requirements for school immunization records by amending the State School Aid Act. Under the revised law, school districts and intermediate districts must report immunization status for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who are new enrollees or entering 7th grade. Districts must submit two reports annually to local health departments: one by November 1st and another by February 1st, detailing the immunization compliance of new students. If a district fails to have immunization documentation for at least 90% of entering pupils in the November report or 95% in the February report, the district will be subject to financial penalties. Specifically, the state will withhold 5% of the district's total state aid funds until compliance is achieved, and if the district does not comply by the end of the fiscal year, it will forfeit the withheld funds. Importantly, the bill requires that all reported information be deidentified and aggregated, protecting individual student privacy. The bill is tied to another legislative bill and will only take effect if that companion bill is also enacted into law.
