AI Summary

This bill aims to update South Carolina's laws regarding charitable solicitations by increasing certain financial thresholds for organizations seeking exemptions from registration requirements, clarifying reporting obligations for commercial co-venturers (businesses that partner with charities for fundraising), and enhancing transparency for donors. Specifically, it raises the revenue limit for charities to be exempt from registration from $7,500 to $10,500 annually, and it modifies rules for commercial co-venturers, requiring them to register and report if they collect over $10,000 in a single campaign, while also limiting the need for joint financial reports for each campaign to commercial co-venturers under certain conditions. The bill also mandates that anyone soliciting for a charity must disclose the charity's legal name and purpose, and it prohibits commercial co-venturers from implying that their state registration is an endorsement by the state.
