This bill modifies the existing law regarding the Office of Homeless Youth Prevention and Protection Programs by expanding the composition of its advisory committee and clarifying its responsibilities. The advisory committee's role remains to provide guidance and recommendations on funding, policy, and practice gaps in state programs addressing youth homelessness. The bill also allows a young adult serving on the committee to complete their term even after turning 25. The office's core mission continues to be coordinating efforts to prevent youth homelessness, decrease the number of homeless youth, increase permanency rates, and develop comprehensive strategies to support homeless youth and young adults.
