This bill modifies the composition of the advisory committee for the office of homeless youth prevention and protection programs, which is responsible for coordinating efforts to improve the safety, health, and welfare of homeless youth and young adults in Washington state. The changes expand the committee's membership to include at least two legislators, at least two parent advocates, at least two youth or young adult representatives, at least one law enforcement representative, service providers, at least two individuals over 25 who experienced homelessness or were involved in a publicly funded system of care as a youth, and at least two individuals representing disproportionately affected populations such as tribal members, people of color, and people with disabilities, in addition to other knowledgeable stakeholders. The committee's role is to provide guidance on funding, policy, and practice gaps, and a young adult member can complete their term even if they turn 25 during that term.
