AI Summary
This bill makes several changes to Florida's education laws, including prohibiting public schools and related entities from spending funds on organizations that discriminate and from promoting certain campus activities that advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion or engage in political or social activism, with exceptions for student-led organizations. It also requires prior written parental consent for instruction on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS, allows students to carry FDA-approved epinephrine delivery devices instead of auto-injectors, and updates regulations for private schools, prekindergarten providers, and school readiness programs regarding eligibility, funding, and accountability. Additionally, the bill mandates a comprehensive mathematics instruction system for school districts, revises health education topics to include human embryologic and fetal development, and allows the Commissioner of Education to remove instructional materials and publishers from state adoption lists for violations of Florida law. It also establishes criteria for identifying school districts in need of intervention and support, modifies educator certification requirements, and requires school districts to implement policies promoting parental involvement, including procedures for consent regarding reproductive health and disease instruction. Finally, the bill updates the kindergarten readiness rate calculation and the period for which providers are prohibited from participating in the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program or school readiness programs due to non-compliance or fraud.
