AI Summary

This bill amends Mississippi law to include advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in the statement of purpose for the Mississippi Nursing Practice Law, revises definitions related to advanced nursing practice, and modifies provisions concerning their practice. A key change is that certified nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and clinical nurse specialists will be exempt from the requirement to maintain a collaborative or consultative relationship with a licensed physician or dentist after completing 3,600 hours of practice, and they can count hours worked before July 1, 2026, towards this requirement. The bill also clarifies that APRNs, including certified nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and clinical nurse specialists, are subject to disciplinary actions by the Board of Nursing, and it updates definitions and conforming language related to these nursing roles and their practice.
