AI Summary
This bill introduces several new regulations concerning foreign influence and activities within Indiana, defining "foreign adversary" to include countries like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran, and establishing rules for entities and individuals acting on behalf of such adversaries. It requires individuals acting as agents for these foreign adversaries to register with the Attorney General, and prohibits certain "prohibited persons," defined broadly to include entities and individuals connected to foreign adversaries, from acquiring real property in Indiana, with existing agreements with such persons declared void and unenforceable. The bill also mandates that state educational institutions conduct foreign influence and research security reviews for foreign students in specific fields like engineering and computer science, and requires approved postsecondary institutions to report on foreign student enrollment. Furthermore, it establishes a process to deny state benefits to those identified as affiliates of foreign terrorist organizations and repeals existing statutes regarding foreign ownership of agricultural land, replacing them with new prohibitions on land ownership by prohibited persons.
