AI Summary
This bill introduces several new regulations concerning foreign influence and national security, primarily targeting entities and individuals associated with "foreign adversaries," which are defined to include countries like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran, among others. Key provisions include requiring state entities that contract for technological products or services to ensure their contractors and subcontractors are not "prohibited persons" (defined as individuals or business entities connected to foreign adversaries), and mandating that individuals acting on behalf of a "hostile foreign country" register with the attorney general. The bill also establishes a process to deny state benefits to those found to be affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations, and imposes new requirements on state educational institutions regarding the admission and enrollment of foreign students in specific fields like engineering, computer science, and artificial intelligence, requiring reviews for foreign influence and research security. Furthermore, it prohibits certain individuals and business entities deemed "prohibited persons" from acquiring real property in Indiana and declares any agreements with such entities void as against public policy, while also repealing existing laws on foreign ownership of agricultural land.
