This bill establishes the Experimental Treatment Access Trust Fund within the Department of Health to help eligible Florida residents with the costs of traveling for experimental treatments or with partial care expenses related to these treatments. Licensed experimental treatment centers can contribute to this fund by donating 2 percent of their net annual profits from experimental treatments or by providing experimental treatment care at no cost, with the value of this care determined by rules set by the department. The trust fund is scheduled to be terminated on July 1, 2030, unless it is ended sooner, and will undergo a review before its termination date. This bill will become effective on July 1, 2026, contingent upon the adoption of a similar piece of legislation during the same legislative session.
