This bill amends Tennessee law to require public schools and public charter schools to provide instruction on child trafficking awareness and prevention to all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Child trafficking is defined as a human trafficking offense where the victim is under 18 years old. This education will now be a part of the health education curriculum, rather than the family life curriculum, and must be age- and grade-appropriate, advancing each year. Schools can use qualified healthcare professionals or social workers to help teach this material. By August 1, 2026, each school district and public charter school governing body must create a plan to implement these requirements, which will take effect for the 2026-2027 school year.
