This bill requires public schools and public charter schools in Tennessee to provide instruction on child trafficking awareness and prevention to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with this education being integrated into health education rather than a family life curriculum. Child trafficking is defined as a human trafficking offense where the victim is under 18 years old, and the instruction must be age- and grade-appropriate, advancing each year. Schools can use qualified healthcare professionals or social workers to assist with this teaching, and by August 1, 2026, each school district and charter school governing body must adopt a plan to implement these requirements, which will take effect for the 2026-2027 school year.
