This bill establishes a new program for Nationally Certified School Psychologists and integrates it into an existing incentive program for teachers. The National Teacher Certification Incentive Reward Program will now also encompass the Nationally Certified School Psychologist Program. The fund supporting these incentives, previously known as the National Teacher Certification Incentive Reward Program Fund, will be renamed the National Teacher Certification Incentive Reward Program and Nationally Certified School Psychologist Program Fund. This expanded fund will provide incentive grants to school psychologists who achieve national certification from the National Association of School Psychologists, offering an initial state-funded award of $5,000 and an annual award of $2,500 for the duration of their certification, mirroring the existing incentives for teachers certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
