Bill Summary
This bill requires the Superintendent of State Police to establish and maintain a schedule for the commencement of a State Police recruit training class at least once every six months. Under the bill, the superintendent, in consultation with the Attorney General, is required to establish recruitment goals for the succeeding fiscal year no later than 30 days after enactment of the annual State budget. The bill provides that recruitment goals are to be based on the availability of funds and the projected attrition of State Police members due to retirement, resignation, or other cause.
