This bill authorizes the expenditure of funding from the secure an advanced vision for education (SAVE) fund for certain insurance costs. Code chapter 423F (statewide school infrastructure funding) establishes the purposes for which a school district may use moneys received from the SAVE fund. Those purposes generally include certain school infrastructure purposes and property tax relief. The bill modifies the definition of “school infrastructure” for purposes of Code chapter 423F to include the increased costs of insurance coverage for the school district that is associated with employing an individual who has been issued a professional permit to carry weapons under Code section 724.6(1)(a)(3).
