This bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-3-113, to expand the authority to appoint designees to the TISA (Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement) review committee. Previously, only the director of the office of legislative budget analysis could appoint a designee to serve on this committee in their place. This bill allows all non-legislative members of the TISA review committee, such as the executive director of the state board, the commissioner of education, the commissioner of finance and administration, the comptroller of the treasury, and the director of the Tennessee advisory commission on intergovernmental relations, to also appoint a designee. These designees will serve as non-voting members of the committee, which is responsible for reviewing aspects of the TISA program.
