This bill extends the Task Force on Responsible Use of Natural Psychedelic Substances, which studies and makes recommendations regarding natural psychedelic substances like psilocybin and mescaline (but not peyote), until December 31, 2027. It also adds a representative from a historically Black college or university in the state to the task force's membership, which already includes legislative members, state secretaries, the Director of the Maryland Cannabis Administration, and various appointed experts and stakeholders. Furthermore, the bill requires the task force to submit an updated report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by October 31, 2026, in addition to its initial report due by July 31, 2025.
