This bill prohibits the manufacture, sale, offer for sale, purchase, receipt, or transfer of a "machine gun convertible pistol" on or after January 1, 2027. A machine gun convertible pistol is defined as a semiautomatic pistol with a specific trigger bar that can be easily converted into a machine gun by attaching a "pistol converter," which is any device that allows the pistol to fire more than one shot with a single trigger pull, including those made with 3D printers. The bill provides several exceptions, such as for law enforcement personnel, licensed firearms dealers servicing or transferring these weapons for specific purposes, and for inheritance under certain conditions. Violating this prohibition is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to three years imprisonment or a $5,000 fine.
