This bill modifies Tennessee law regarding where lawsuits can be filed to dissolve nonprofit corporations, specifically when the Attorney General and Reporter initiates the action. Previously, such lawsuits could only be filed in the county where the corporation's main office was located, or its registered office if it had no main office in Tennessee. This bill expands the options, allowing these lawsuits to be filed in any county where the corporation conducts activities, solicits donations, or does business, as well as in counties where the Attorney General and Reporter has an office, or specifically in Davidson, Sumner, or Williamson Counties. For lawsuits initiated by parties other than the Attorney General and Reporter, the venue remains the county where the corporation's principal office is or was last located, or its registered office if it has no principal office in Tennessee.
