The bill also permits the State Board of Nursing to establish different fee structures for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who hold a multistate license issued by Hawaii, and appropriates funds for necessary upgrades to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' licensing database to support this new system. Additionally, beginning in 2027, nurses holding a multistate license from another state and employed by a Hawaii healthcare facility will be required to complete demographic data surveys as a condition of employment, with healthcare facilities responsible for reporting this compliance to the Board of Nursing.
