This bill mandates that the State Board of Education implement trauma-informed practices in all West Virginia schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, starting July 1, 2026. Additionally, the bill requires schools to adopt disciplinary procedures that focus on holistic assessments and positive interventions rather than harsh punishments, utilizing restorative practices and avoiding discrimination. The State Board is authorized to create necessary rules to implement these changes.
