This bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, which relates to education, by adding a new section that allows a Local Education Agency (LEA) or public charter school to continue a disciplinary investigation of a student even if that student withdraws from the school during the investigation. Furthermore, if a student withdraws and later reenrolls in the same LEA or public charter school, the school can still discipline the student based on the findings of the original investigation, following its established policies. The bill also removes an expired pilot program aimed at improving parent-teacher engagement in early grades.
