This bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 55-8-185, to exempt utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), which are off-road vehicles designed for work or utility purposes, from a specific speed limit restriction when they are being used for agricultural purposes. Currently, UTVs are generally restricted to operating on state highways and county roads with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour or less, but this bill carves out an exception for UTVs used in farming, meaning they can operate on these roads even if the speed limit is higher than 45 mph, provided other existing restrictions on UTV operation still apply.
