This bill amends Tennessee law to expand the application of the Neighborhood Preservation Act and the Tennessee Local Land Bank Program to specific counties based on population. Specifically, it adds a new provision to Section 13-6-105 of the Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA), which governs the Neighborhood Preservation Act, to include any county with a population between 60,900 and 61,000, as determined by the 2020 or a later federal census. Additionally, it amends Section 13-30-103(4) of the TCA, which relates to the Tennessee Local Land Bank Program, by adding two new categories of eligible participants: counties with populations between 60,900 and 61,000, and counties with populations between 220,000 and 220,100, along with any municipality within those larger counties, all based on the 2020 or a subsequent federal census. The Tennessee Local Land Bank Program is designed to help local governments acquire and redevelop vacant or abandoned properties.
