This bill, titled the Affordable Housing Supply Chain Clarity Act, requires the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to review how the Build America, Buy America Act, which mandates the use of American-made materials in federally funded infrastructure projects, is being applied to the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The HOME program, established by the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act, provides grants to states and local governments to create affordable housing for low-income families. Within 180 days of the bill's enactment, HUD must complete this review, and within 90 days after that, issue updated guidance to clarify the application of the Build America, Buy America Act to HOME-assisted activities. Finally, within 270 days of enactment, the Secretary must report the findings of the review and the updated guidance to relevant House and Senate committees.
